Nikon D300s is a compact DX format professional SLR camera with 12.3 MP  CMOS sensor , 3 inch LCD screen which supports D-movie and two live modes.It features 7fps continuous shooting , 51-point AF for high sensitivity in low light, selectable picture controls , red eye reduction, built in flash and auto flash.It has a magnesium alloy  body which is water and dust resistant.

Review Details

The Nikon D300s is where things get a lot more serious. The size and weight of the camera is indicative of that. There’s a big difference going from the D5000 to this. The older D300 had no Liveview so there was no video recording functionality either. It’s still no a full-frame sensor camera though. The D300s like the D5000, records 720p video.

 

 

 

The camera has a high-quality 3-inch non-foldable display and many more controls. It includes a top-view display for the controls, so you don’t have to look at the screen at the back while switching controls. Dedicated buttons for all the other controls along with the two jog dials control pretty much everything. You rarely use the direction keys to adjust settings.

 

The direction button set has a thicker feel to it and you no longer get the easy-to-understand photo shooting mode dial. The ISO, image quality, white balance and even the shoot mode settings can be found on a separate dial which works in collaboration. In the interface, it’s very similar to the D5000 and the D90 camera of yesteryear.
