Samsung’s NX10 is the unexpected entry into the DSLR crowd. Where as all the other brands has a history of DSLRs and high-end cameras, Samsung is the one of the new players. The camera doesn’t exactly fall into the single lens reflex digital cameras category.

The Samsung NX10 like most other four thirds has no optical viewfinder due to the missing mirror and prism. Instead, a LCD screen like the ones found on ultrazoom (pseudo-SLRs) can be found on the camera. The body isn’t too deep and the lens feels very slim as compared to DSLRs. The body feels tightly packed together although the lens could have been a little sturdier. The focus ring feels loose and flimsy, and it has no dead zone either. The zoom lens feels hard to move while reaching the extreme ends. In the hand, it feels alright. Since it’s a pretty compact body, it’s difficult to fit the camera in the palm of your hand. So you end up holding it like a point and shoot camera. At the same time, it’s not exactly feather weight with that lens.

The refresh rate on the display is top notch and there’s hardly any detail visible. The viewfinder is another LCD, which isn’t very good.
