Question : I had purchased Panasonic FZ-7 on 13-05-2007 from Bangalore with warranty (3years) expiring this month. earlier i had flash problem and got repaired (board changed) from Bangalore service center, again noted problem three months back ie of auto focus problem, it was in warranty so i sent it to Bangalore service center, problem not repaired at Bangalore due to non availability of spares and camera was forwarded to Chennai for repair, now they said camera is repaired (may be again board changed) and sent and still lying in hubli service center, iam yet to collect the same. now also warranty expired two days back. There was two times failure so will i get further warranty or if further problem faced what to do? will they change camera to new one this time if i insist. pl help and reply. Thanx

Answer : Dear Usman,

Generally speaking, you can not ask for extension of warranty period. But strictly speaking you can make a case for the exclusion of the period taken in repair and added it to warranty extension.Other thing keep a record of all the correspondence so that in event of any legal proceedings against them you can make your stand clear on the issues.
