Dell Vostro 1000 is on Low end notebooks in Dell's product range. The chassis is all black and doesn't get stained quickly by fingerprints. The Vostro 1000 is intended for simple, casual everyday tasks (web browsing, text editing) and is ideal for Home users.

The Dell Vostro 1000 is powered with an AMD Athlon Processor and features ATI Radeon Xpress and Fujitsu Hard drive. It has a 15.4 Inch Display screen with 16:10 Aspect Ratio and 1280x800 pixel display resolution.

Positive - cheap - simple interface and good performance - USB ports/jacks at appropriate places...
Negative - looks are not jazzy but fine, and the cover gets dirty sooner than expectations - no infrared/ bluetooth / camera - RAM comes in 2 pieces and fil...
Overall Upgrade RAM appropriately, else you loose optimized utilization. I upgraded from 1GB to 2.5GB with the earlier .5GB RAM lying unused :(...

Positive Dell Vostro 1000 has an AMD Turion 64x2 Dual core mobile 1.9 GHz Technology, 120 GB Hard Drive 15.4 Inches Display Screen, ATI Radeon Express Graphics...
Negative it has no negative points...
Overall it is one of the best laptops for gaming and for office work also....
