This new-year MSI has something for everyone. By announcing 14 new laptops in 5 different series, MSI will try to satisfy the requirements of a wide set of consumers. The G-series Gaming notebooks, for example the GT640 and GT740, are high on performance. Packed with Quad-Core processors and an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250M 3D discreet graphics card, they have screens up to 17 inches wide. Depending on the configuration chosen, they cost upwards of Rs. 88,000.
The additions to the Classic series, the CR420, CX420 and CR620 cost upwards of Rs. 38,000. Focused on design, these notebooks have Color Print Film exterior coating. Compared to the previous generation of this series, the new laptops are have performance and operating speed enhancements and are thinner and lighter. In addition, they are capable of processing 1080p high definition video.
The E-Series entertainment notebooks like the EX465 are powered by Core 2 duo processors. With a 15 inch LED screen and an ergonomic keyboard, this is ideal for those who spend a lot of time working on their laptops. This laptop weighs 2kgs and is priced upwards of Rs 39,000.
For those looking for portable laptops and netbooks, MSI has two ranges - the X-Slim series and the Wind Netbooks. The new extra-lightweight X-Slim notebooks like the X350, X420, X430 and the X620 are less than 1 inch think at the thickest point. Much lighter than regular notebooks, these cost upwards of Rs 45,000. The Wind Netbooks are a lot cheaper though. With prices in the range of Rs. 19,000 to Rs 28,000, the new ultra-portable U-series netbooks are the U130, U135, U210 and the U230. The U130 and the U135 have a wide touchpad and are powered by the new Intel Atom N450 processor known for its low battery consumption. The U210 and the U230 netbooks running on dual-core AMD processors have 12-inch screens, support HD video output and have HDMI ports that can be used to connect to TVs.
