ASUS has announced three new notebook products at Computex 2011, one laptop – UX21, and two netbooks – Eee PC X101 and NX90. The ASUS UX21 has been doing the rounds ever since it was shown a few days ago, because it is the first such laptop of its kind – an Ultrabook, a term Intel coined to describe ultra-thin, ultra-light, and ultra-efficient laptops made with upcoming Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors.

The ASUS UX21 is expected to ship by late 2011. It is just 17mm thick at its widest point, and will weigh around 1.1kg. This doesn’t mean however that the ASUS has had to do away with top-end specs to keep the UX21 lean. In fact, it’s just the opposite – the UX21 can sport up to Core i7 processor, and comes with 6Gbps SSDs and USB 3.0 cables. It has a glass trackpad, and an quick boot and instant on feature for super fast boot and resume times.

Next up, is the ASUS Eee PC X101, an innovative 11-inch netbook that weighs just 950 grams, and can run the MeeGo operating system out-of-the-box. Customer can also order Windows 7-MeeGo dual-boot versions. Customers have the option to use either SSDs or mechanical hard drives for storage. The MeeGo based device is expected to sell for around $200, or roughly Rs. 10,000.
The latest addition to ASUS N series of netbooks is the SonicMaster audio that was first seen in the popular NX90 netbook. Developed in conjunction with designer David Lewis and audio experts Bang & Olufsen, the new range promises to be stylish, and, quite an earful. They will sport dedicated external subwoofers, and thus offer deeper bass extension than ever before on a netbook.
