Dell has strengthened its portfolio in the notebook category, by unveiling their slimmest notebook – Slim XPS 15z in India. Based on Intel's second generation Sandy Bridge processors, it will be available in both the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 versions, while also including the latest memory and graphic card configuration.

The Slim XPS 15z comes with a 15.6-inch LED display supporting a native resolution of  1920 x 1080 pixels with full HD support. In addition to the two processor versions, the user has the option to choose between a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT525 graphics card or its 2GB version. Both the cards are said to  include NVIDIA's Optimus and 3DTV Play technology. Also, the consumer has the option to choose between the 500GB or the larger 750GB hard drive configuration. The port configuration includes two USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA-USB combo port and the connectivity options include: Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 n, which remain same on both the models. In addition, Dell has pre-loaded its Stage User Interface with a customized quick launch bar for quicker access to programs.

The Core i5 model will ship with a 4GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive, at a price tag of Rs. 69,900. On the other hand, the Core i7 model will pack an 8GB RAM going with a 750GB hard drive at an estimated price of Rs. 80,900. Though, both the model configurations look impressive, their steep prices can burn a hole in your pocket.
