HP strengthens its notebook line-up

Notebook computer giant HP announced the launch of its complete new range of notebooks for home and office users for the Indian market. These include three Pavilion DV series for the home & entertainment segment, Mini 110, ProBook and Compaq 610.

The star attraction of the launch is the new HP Mini 110. Although HP already had net books in its portfolio, but the HP mini is the first one to feature the MI version which is specifically targeted towards mobile internet users and to provide maximum compatibility. The Mini 110 is based on an Atom 270/280 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and 160 GB HDD.

“With these new HP Minis, we’re enhancing the customer experience by adding compelling features that allow users to interact with their Mini in a fun way,” said Kevin Frost, Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Notebooks, Personal Systems Group, HP. “Our broad portfolio of mini companion PCs truly offers customers choices to fit every need and every personality.”

The DV series of notebooks launched are meant for home and entertainment purpose and they also feature HDMI connectivity, allowing Hi-Def content to be played on most flat panel TV’s.

The HP Pro Book fits into the slot between mid range and high end Elite book range of HP very well and is targeted towards small and medium business users. Designed for portability and usability for business users, the Pro Book comes in a 15.4inch LED backlit screen and features ATI Radeon discreet graphics that delivers best performance for business applications. The Pro Book can also be beneficial for frequent travelers but only for those who do not mind the size of the notebook. Frequent travelers can also upgrade this notebook toa 8-cell battery for longer battery backup. Charging this notebook is not an issue as it features the HP fast charge feature that can restore up to 90 percent of battery capacity in about an hour’s time.

Compaq 610 is meant for those who do not have big needs and are looking for something that can provide a little mobility to their business. All in all this notebook is tailor made for those who require mobility for their business while keeping budget in mind, as it comes for Rs 33,500 plus taxes.
