Apple Sells 1 Million iPads in 28 Days

Apple crossed the one million mark in terms of number of iPads sold, in just 28 days after the iPad was launched. In addition, there have been over 12 million application downloads from the App Store and over 1.5 million eBook downloads from the new iBookstore.
 
The iPad, launched in the beginning of April this year, is a device primarily for consuming content and Apple has made that experience brilliant. The battery on this gadget lasts for up to 10 hours. It weighs less than 1kg and is only half an inch thick. Its multi-touch display is 9.7 inches wide diagonally and has a resolution of 1024x768 pixels. The iPad is powered by a 1GHz Apple A4 custom designed processor which boasts high performance and low power consumption. This device has an internal storage capacity of up to 64GB and the basic model comes with Wi-Fi for connectivity.
 
Apple sells an experience and the iPad seems to be doing well. Among other things, the iPad lets users browse the web, access email, view photos, play games and read eBooks. There are now over 5,000 new apps for the iPad. In addition, the iPad runs almost all of the more than 200,000 apps on the App Store.
