LG A530 is one of the company’s top of the line gaming PCs, and comes with 3D display of the FPR type, or Film-Patterned Retarder. The 3D gaming laptop, which was introduced in Korea two months ago, is presently a top seller in the local 3D notebook segment. Now, TÜV Rheinland, one of the leading European authorities on technical, safety and certification services, has awarded LG with the first flicker-free certification for any 3D notebook, saying the Korean giant has solved “3D’s most vexing shortcoming” – flickering.
According to LG, TUV has issued its certification after rigorous testing of the FPR 3D display, and J.J. Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics PC Business Unit, spoke about the certification.

“Recognition from TÜV Rheinland is especially welcome given the organization’s focus on quality and safety. Official certifications from leading third party authorities only help to confirm our belief that LG’s 3D technology is second to none.”
The LG A530 features a full HD display, and uses FPR to generate stereoscopic images, a passive 3D technology, which LG claims provides the brightest and the most flicker-free 3D experience when compared to other 3D display technologies.
