Gateway LT3100 net book features AMD for the first time
After much waiting and listening to the rumours in the market, Gateway notebooks have officially revealed that the newer LT3100 Net Book will be featuring an AMD based processor in place of Intel. The 11.6inch net book will be based on an AMD Athlon Neo processor running at 1.2GHz, along with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and would be the first notebook to feature a bigger 250GB HDD as well. For operating system, Gateway decided not to go for windows XP and has opted for Windows Vista Basic. To handle the graphics and to meet the minimum requirements of Windows Vista, this net book will also be featuring ATI Radeon Graphics along with a WXGA resolution. Fall 2009, Apple plans to introduce touchscreen Netbook
There is recent buzz in the international market, around the launch of Apple's touchscreen based Netbook. Officially confirmed by close sources like Digitimes and Dow Jones, this netbook is supposed to be out in the markets by Fall 2009. As per the insider information, Quanta will be making these netbooks with screens measuring between 9.7 and 10 inches. Apple has however opted to keep this under the radar and as such, the netbook specifications and functions are yet to be firmed up. Commercial Times has been reported that "Wintek will supply touch panels for Apple's new netbook, and shipments will start in the third quarter this year". Netbooks are the hot property for gizmo geeks and like Sony, Apple is all set to invade this market space. Let's wait and watch ! ........

DELL Adamo lost to its market rival, MacBook Air
The much hyped, luxury segment DELL laptop, \'Adamo\' didn\'t turn out as per the market buzz and hoopla. In spite of having an elegant look and suave style, this model lost to its market rival MacBook Air. Priced at Rs 1,20,000 and weighing 1.8 kg, Dell Adamo comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV at 1.2 GHz, 2GB of 800 MHz DDR3 memory, a 128 GB SSD and Windows Vista home premium 64-bit. In spite of being in the category of luxury laptops, it fails to meet the mark on few aspects where Apple\'s MacBook Air scores over, clearly.
