Intel had launched their first line of Core 2 Quad processors (Q8000 and Q9000) for notebooks last year, followed with Core 2 Quad Extreme (QX9000) processor. Now processor technology is no longer about higher gigahertz or faster clock speed, the real determinant of performance is more number of cores. Although Intel has already launched two series of Quad core processors, but the other major computer processor manufacturer, AMD, remains silent and it remains uncertain when it would la unch its first line of four core processor for notebooks.
