Question : i have brought acer travelmate 5730 notebook.after 1 year it shows problem in dvd drive.when it was burning disk , produces a humming sound,now a days it has not reading any disk.i have no warranty after 1 year.please help me or sugest me .it is very important. thanks

Answer : Dear Consumer,
If your product is not under warranty it’s entirely your duty to get it repaired. But if the product was having such problem for quite long time then you can a make a case of inherent manufacturing problem which can As stated by you in your complaint this is a case where the product was having an inherent manufacturing problem. The quality maintained by the company was not good. There are deficiencies in the service on the part of the dealer and the company. You have to take a legal action to put them in motion. Do not feel cheated as you can very well take legal action by complaining in the district consumer forum. But before that in the first instance you serve them with a registered letter in shape a legal demand notice containing all your details and intimate them failing this you can file consumer complaints with the district forum. Keep a record of the all the communication for the future reference. I am sure some sense will prevail over them and they will do something about your problems after receiving notice only.
