My Compaq Pesario laptop stops working at all

Question : Dear Sir,

I have purchased Compaq Presario(V3500) model no : V3749 Au/KP152PA (Sr .No: 2CE8080CML) on may 2008.Since purchasing the product i have not faced a single problem till last 4 days.Four days back When i switched off PC through Hibernate and started again it is not getting started.Since from then my laptop display is not getting On while switch ON. laptop shown to HP service centre located at Nagpur.

Afterwards i understand that nvidia got failed and needs to replace whole motherboard with additional cost of Rs.15000 + , and understand from them that NVIDIA is a defective piece in your earlier supplied product also.

How can i get replacement and guide me.

Answer : Dear Consumer,
This is the not first time that the companies are backing out from their tall claims and doing nothing for the customer. Legally speaking, it depends upon the warranty terms on which you purchased the product. It is not clear from the facts mentioned by you as whether are you still enjoying the warranty benefits or not. If the product is out of the warranty period then its entirely your responsibility except where the product was having the same problem since same. Nevertheless, at this stage what we suggest you to write a letter to the company and the dealer from where you purchased the product containing all the relevant details and problems you are facing. I hope they would be sensible enough to respond. Keep a record of the all the communications exchanged. Thereafter if the response is not positive you can file consumer complaints. But first of all check you warranty status.
