LG has officially joined other major manufacturers as part of the Google TV club, and is expected to reveal the first LG Google TV at CES this week. The Korean giant has revealed some features of the TV ahead of the announcement, which include Cinema 3D technology, as well as a Magic Remote.

According to LG, the LG Google TV will come with Android OS onboard, and will use a dedicated chipset (L9) to power the Google TV interface. This will help reduce the television’s overall power consumption, and also ensure smooth performance of the operating system. The company says the TV will also deliver seamless multitasking, allowing users to run several tasks simultaneously, such as social networking, search, and TV.

Also shipping with the LG Google TV is the company’s Magic Remote QWERTY controller, offering voice-based search and gesture control apart from the hardware keypad. The LG Google TV will feature Cinema 3D technology, using FPR (Film Patterned Reader) displays. To view 3D, users will have to wear lightweight, battery-free glasses. LG has also included a 2D-to-3D conversion engine, enabling single-click 3D conversion of any 2D content.
