Toshiba introduces low-cost LCD TVs, Gears up for mass production in India
Toshiba India has revealed its plans to start mass production of low-cost LCD TVs in India by this year end. For this purpose, Toshiba intends to open a new R&D centre at Gurgaon, which will focus mainly on developing India-centric products. Speaking about Toshiba's plans on starting mass production of LCD TVs in India, Wu Tengguo, Director of Digital Products at Toshiba India has revealed that these products are presently being imported from Indonesia. Samsung Launches New LED TVs in India
Samsung has recently announced the launch of two new LED TVs to its 4000 and 5000 series of LED TVs in India. The new additions to these two series include 22-inch and 26-inch screen variants of LED TVs for the first time in India. These new LED TVs have expanded Samsung's LED TV line to everything from the small 22-inch displays to extremely large televisions that measure 55-inches across. LED TVs are very different from LCD TVs as they use LEDs to produce the backlighting for the television, instead of the traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL).
