Review Details
The Micromax X550 (QUBE) dual sim phone is a bandy shaped phone with great features. It is a stylish looking device and looks very attractive with a purple metallic strip running along its body contours. It weighs about 85 grams. At the top we find the power button, on the side the volume control buttons and camera button are located. The 3.5mm audio jack and USB ports are at the bottom.
The battery cover is very flexible and can be removed easily. The Dual SIMs can be activated together and it supports a retractable stylus.
The touch screen is resistive and difficult to use. The hardware keypad is missing and interface feels inaccurate and sluggish.
The 3D Cube has touch sensitive wallpapers, nice application widgets and gives quick access to SNS Sites.
The user can easily flip through the page by dragging the page horizontally. Overall, the 3D Cube UI is a value for money buy.

The Micromax X550 (QUBE) gave good signal reception and has good voice clarity. TH device scored well in the earpiece volume, loudspeaker clarity, handsfree clarity and speaker volume tests. The performance was average with loudspeaker audio and photo color tests, the performance in the camera and music tests was good. The video playback test was also average. In the Bluetooth test it was not very good and we transferred a 5MB file in about 66.87 seconds.
Verdict: The Micromax X550 (QUBE) is a value for money phone with access to Sns sites and a touchscreen. The 3D Cube UI is good. We miss the hardware keypad, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Priced at Rs. 5,999 it is a value for money device. The touch-screen is the major drawback and we just if you can spend a little more, go for Samsung Corby Pro, which supports a better interface and QWERTY keypad.
