Review Details Spice Mi-300 - Spice up your life with lifestyle apps A large number of 3G Touchscreen Mobile Handsets have been launched in the Indian Market. Spice MI-300 is one such handset launched in direct competition with Videocon's- the ZEUS V7500. This Spice Mobile is loaded with great features.
Spice Mi-300 Mobile Handset supports Android 1.6 and Éclair (Android 2.1). The touch interface, home-screen and widgets are exactly like the ZEUS V7500. However Spice has added a whole lot of lifestyle applications that are missing in Videocon Zeus V7500.
This Spice Mobile is a little bulkier than its competitor even though they look exactly the same. It has the same build, design, LCD Screen and keys as Videocon Zeus. Most of the buttons are placed in exactly the same position like the camera, volume control, USB, 3.5 MM Audio jack and power button.
There is a trackball present on Spice Mobile, though the 5MP Camera with LED Flash is similar to the Videocon mobile. Spice is a Dual SIM Phone with both GSM and WCDMA SIM slots. It also has space for a MicroSD Card Slot which is again similar with Videocon Zeus.
This spice mobile supports a stylish grey metallic strip around the body with a black matter back panel and a glossy black front panel. The spice mobile is loaded with great features like spice sangeet, Railinfo, SMS filter, Ibibo, Road Sync and loads more. You have an option to create or delete shortcuts on the home screen of whichever function you want easily.
This spice mobile supports a glowing red recycle bin icon. It also has a status bar which indicates Wi-Fi signal, Battery level, SIM Card status and you can include a clock widget on the front screen. You have the option of having active wallpaper.
Other features included in this handset are a G-sensor which helps to align photographs taken, an E-compass which can be used as a motion sensor and an accelerometer.
Performance
In the audio and signal test this spice handset was an average and voice clarity was hardly good. The loudspeaker was prone to voice distortion and background noise was also very evident. The handsfree and earpiece were definitely mediocre.
The 5MP Camera was good and clicked sharp and clear images. In wowed us the multimedia test but we were unable to read the display icons and fonts outdoors under direct sunlight.
Conclusion
This Spice Mi-300 Mobile Handset is a feature-rich with its 3G touch-screen at a budget price of Rs. 9,990. However the lost cost has compromised the performance to a certain extent. The Bundled earphones were the only test where this spice mobile was better than Videocon Zeus. Overall, it is an economical mobile which can be bought by budget consumers.
