A mobile OS is the Basic OS that monitors the mobile device. There are different Mobile Operating Systems available in the market, like Symbian, RIM Blackberry, iPhone OS, Windows Mobile, Android, Linux and Bada OS.
Symbian OS

Symbian is one the World most popular OS, Nokia Acquired the Symbian Software Limited in 2008 and made it a non profit organization. The Symbian Platform is now royalty free open source mobile OS. The latest Symbian OS released is the Symbian Anna and Belle in August 2011.
Blackberry OS

Blackberry is also a very popular OS with more than 15000 downloadable applications. Earlier it was focused on business owners but now RIM has expanded its base. It has become widely popular with office executives, college goers and business owners. Blackberry has also introduced its Tablet, the blackberry playbook.
Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched the Windows Phone 7 OS in 2010. The earlier version requires the use of a stylus and was not very popular. The new windows 7 OS is an improvement over the previous version, it supports Microsoft services like Windows Live, Zune, Xbox Live and Bing, as well as gives access to services like Facebook and Google accounts.
iPhone OS

All Apple Products like iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone and second-generation Apple TV use the iOS, derived from Mac OS X. The iPhone OS from apple is very popular due to its superior UI and the number of applications available.
Android OS

Google has launched its Android OS, which gives you access to a host of applications, games and services. The Google OS is a Linux-derived platform supported by Google. This is a relative new entry in the Mobile OS industry but has already developed a huge following with all major phone manufacturers working on the Android Platform. Android gives developers full access to the phones operations making it very popular among programmers.
Samsung Bada OS

The Bada OS has been developed by Samsung. The Samsung Bada 2.0 has been launched with key features like Accelerated functions like multi tasking, speech recognition, WiFi Direct, extended developer coverage like Flash, WAC 2.0, enhanced tools(profiler, emulator) and offers various business opportunities (in application ads, global store).
Bada supports a wide range of powerful applications and supports a large number of devices.
Linux OS

Linux is a popular OS, popularly used in China by Motorola and Docomo in Japan. Linux is also used as a base by many mobile OS like Android, GridOS, B2G, LiMo, Maemo, MeeGo, Openmoko and Qt Extended. Other Mobile manufactures are also developing software’s based on Linux.
