Nokia Makes 3G Available to More with 2730 Classic

Nokia has launched the 2730 classic, which priced at less than Rs. 5000 is one of the cheapest 3G devices available in India. Equipped with an Opera Mini browser, this phone will introduce many people to the world of mobile internet.
 
The 2730 is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, which when coupled with 3G and services like Qik, will let people stream live video. It has a 2-inches-wide screen and although that means a less than optimal web browsing experience, being able to view pictures and stream videos will definitely excite consumers. In addition, as it supports Java, there will be a host of applications available for the mobile handset.  The phone supports external storage of up to 2GB via microSD cards.

Currently, the 3G penetration in India is less than admirable. The 2730 from Nokia phones will have more people demanding 3G and this will hopefully make the government and private carriers speed up their attempts in providing 3G coverage to all.
