Samsung Galaxy S II Plus Expected Instead of S III at MWC

While most of the recent rumours have been indicating a February, Mobile World Congress (MWC) launch for the Samsung Galaxy S III, the latest batch to hit the rumour mill say otherwise. Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S II Plus at the Barcelona event, and only unveil the Galaxy S III at some point later in the first half of 2012.

The latest rumours are based around a leak, where a an An3DBenchXL benchmark’s report card showed a device named the Galaxy S II Plus, bearing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

According to industry pundits, the new sequence of product releases fits well with what Samsung’s been known to do in the past, usually releasing a ‘Plus’ version of its popular devices before the new generation.
