Spice Mobiles Ltd has just taken cell phone cameras to the next level by launching the S-1200, a phone equipped with a 12 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom. Priced at Rs. 16,990, this phone is likely to attract those for whom the camera on the phone is important.   In addition to the 12 megapixel sensor and the 3x optical zoom, the S-1200 has other features common to point and shoot cameras. LG Android Device GW620 Available For Rs. 18,990
LG's GW620, a phone running the open source Android platform is now available for Rs. 18,990 in India. Equipped with a full QWERTY keypad, this is one of the cheaper Android devices available in India today.   The GW620 runs v1.5 (also known as Cupcake), an older version of the Android operating system. Blackberry Storm2 9520 Now In India
Research In Motion (RIM) has launched another version of the Blackberry Storm2 — the 9520 — in India. As an improved version of the Blackberry Storm, this phone will be available for about Rs. 32,000.   The 9520 is a full touch screen phone which has a TFT LCD screen that is 3.25 inches wide diagonally and has a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. This phone uses SurePress technology, which essentially makes the touch screen pressable — the user can feel the screen click under his or her finger. LG Announces Cookie Plus and Cookie Fresh
Following the LG Cookie, which sold over 13 million units worldwide, LG has announced two more phones in the Cookie series. The LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500) and the LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) are both touchscreen phones with social network integration.   These phones have support for widgets — small applications that display information like weather and Twitter updates on the home screen. They also have LiveSquare, a feature that assigns avatars to a user's friends and makes conversations more visual.
