Microsoft and Nokia to bring office to devices
Microsoft and Nokia are expected to get into an agreement to deliver Microsoft’s Office on Nokia mobile phones. Mobile version of the upcoming office 2010 is most likely to be chosen for the job. It’s not very clear whether it will come as a preloaded application as a customized version of Office Mobile on select Nokia phones or will it simply be an Office Web Apps access. As of now Microsoft is yet to get a test candidate of the Office 2010 for mobile phones application. Beta testers and analysts are eagerly waiting for the same to come their way along with the promised access to Office web Apps, which are the online browser based version of some of the applications. ........

Apple to add new technology for monitoring new iPhone/iPod touch usage
iPhone and IPod touch phone buyers will have to deal with a new problem soon. Apple has decided to add new technology to its products which will monitor the usage and will decide the warranty claims. User might be stripped off the warranty claim if the handling of the device does not meet the required criteria. The technology is primarily designed to let apple know if the device has been abused by the user. In worst cases company might also disable the device if the user tries to tamper with it. Apple’s definition of abuse includes exposing an electronic device to liquids, extreme temperatures, or excessive shock (e.g., the resulting impact from dropping the device). 4 Aug 2009: Virgin mobile, has announced the launch of Vchatter application for Virgin mobile users in India. Vchatter which is powered by Nimbuzz is a multibrand WAP based chat client, which brings a one click log-in to multiple IMs like Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk, MSN Messenger, Facebook, Skype and many more for free. The application launch is divided into two phases. In the phase one the application will be available on the Virgin Vbytes WAP portal as an online application.
