Question : You will have to have patience for reading this mind-boggling extract of neglect and laxity. I purchased a Gee Pee mobile on 01/03/2010 from Salt Lake (where I reside) in Kolkata after which started the deluge of problems one by one. Besides conspicuous absence of some of the basic features in my handset, a speed dial option was deactivated for rectification of which I approached a service centre. To rectify that problem they changed the software altogether after which another problem erupted. I started facing problem with video and camera which were not working properly among a host of other problems. I even contacted the head office of Gee Pee at Ballygunge over phone when they asked me to deposit the handset at the service centre. After enquiring about the status of repair on a subsequent date, I was told that it was sent to the head office which was also ratified by a service personnel at the head office. A few days later I received my handset from the service centre after confirming over phone that all problems were fully resolved. To my utter surprise, when I received the handset I found that the same problem persisted with minute alterations and was told that nothing more could be expected from this handset. On contacting the service personnel of the head office whom I had contacted earlier, he said he was extremely sorry for this and asked me to come to the head office (which is located in the southern part at a diametrically opposite point of my residence) personally to get the set replaced if need be. Still I bore that brunt and went there braving the torrential rain that day only to get the PCB of my handset replaced with a "new" one saying that it was as good as replacing it with a new handset altogether. Soon I discovered after reaching my home that the camera and the video used to hang some times. When I again contacted the head office and spoke to the senior most service man, he again apologized to me and asked me to come there all over again, this time to get the set entirely replaced. In spite of my hectic schedule, I went there again as well and they indeed replaced my handset with a "new" one along with the headset and the charger as well. Before handing over the "new" set to me they also assured me that they had checked that each and every feature is working properly. After checking for the errors of my earlier handset which were partially resolved, I happily came back home with this "new" guest feeling that the spate of troubles had ended at last. Due to a slight hearing problem I always switched on the loudspeaker of the handset while talking with somebody. One fine day when some private details needed to be divulged, I switched over to the ordinary conversation mode only to find that it was in no way possible. This time on contacting with the senior serviceman contacted earlier he was astounded and even said that he had checked the normal mode of conversation with the loudspeaker switched off before handing over the new set to me. He told me to visit the service centre saying that the problem would be rectified on that day itself. When I had my set opened at an authorized service centre, I was in for another great shock. The seal of the handset was missing and so was the speaker of the handset which is used in normal conversation mode. They alleged that I had got the set handled by an unauthorized service agent and that the warranty was void for the "broken" seal. On contacting the head office, even the good-for-nothing fellows there accused me of the same. However on being somehow convinced of no mistake on my part they asked the service centre personnel attending my handset to provide me with a speaker even though the former was reluctant enough to do so as the cost of the speaker would have to be borne by him. After all this mess, he placed a speaker in the handset and after preliminary investigation came back with the repaired set this time to find that after working properly for a few times the same old friend, the "hanging problem" reared its ugly head this time also. This the final status of my renowned handset belonging the so-called pioneer of new age technology mobile. I am at a total loss not knowing what to do next to get rid of the heap of these miracles in my "MIRACLE" (Gee Pee 2234) handset which has been proving itself from day one I purchased it!!!!!!!

This is height of poor quality services by any company. I must appreciate that you are aware of your valuable rights. The company in no circumstances can make you run from pillar to post. The thing which I can suggest you at this stage is that in the first instance write them a registered letter containing all the details of your complaint. In case, they do not come up with a solution then you may go ahead with complaint in the district forum. Keep a record of the all the communication for the future reference. I hope some sense will prevail over them at the stage of notice itself and they will sort out the things.
