Review Details

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is finally here and has been able to do what Motorola Xoom, Asus Transformer and Acer Iconia have not been able to do till date. It provides direct competition to the Apple iPad.

 
Look & Feel
 
The Samsung Tab 750 is better than the iPad 2 in weight and thickness. The Samsung Tab 750 weighs just 565 grams and is just 8.6mm thick making it both thinner and lighter than the iPad 2. It has a plastic build which may be criticized by some but makes the tablet lightweight and slim.
 
Features
 
The Samsung Tab has a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution but somehow is brighter and more vivid than its competitors. We found that the iPad 2’s display is better even if the Samsung Tab supports higher resolution. Brightness wise you can use the display at 50% setting otherwise it can be too bright for normal usage. It does not have a memory card slot but has inbuilt 16 GB Memory, a proprietary dock connector and supports dual cameras- A 3.15MP camera at the back and a 2MP video call camera. It is preloaded with Android 3.1 and has a similar UI like other Android Tablets. 
 
Performance
 
It supports an ARM Cortex A9 dual core 1GHz processor, with 1GB RAM and Tegra 2 chipset. It offers better performance than the Xoom or Acer Iconia A501 but still has some jerkiness and stutters which are very disappointing. The iOS offers better performance in this department.
 
The TouchWiz UX UI is very good. The Battery life is as good as the Apple iPad 2 – about 12 hours which is great.
 
Our Take
 
If you want to buy an Android Based Tablet than Samsung Galaxy Tab is definitely the one for you. However if Android if not your criteria than Apple iPad 2 is still the best choice available.
